Terms and Policies

Terms, Submission, Verification & Privacy Policies

Effective Date: [9/11/2025]

1. Terms & Conditions

1.1 Agreement to Terms

By visiting CancelTheHate.com or submitting any information, you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions, the Submission Policy, Verification Policy, and Privacy Policy (collectively, the “Policies”). If you do not agree, do not use the site.

1.2 Purpose of the Site

CancelTheHate.com exists to collect, verify, and publish reports of publicly documented speech, conduct, or advocacy of violence, discrimination, or hate by individuals — especially those holding positions of public trust — in order to inform the public and promote accountability.

1.3 Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years of age to submit content. By submitting, you represent that you have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms.

1.4 License & Rights

By submitting content, you grant CancelTheHate.com a perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, publish, display, and archive your submission, with or without redaction, in any media format for educational, journalistic, or accountability purposes.

1.5 Liability & Indemnification

You are solely responsible for the truthfulness and legality of your submission. You agree to indemnify and hold harmless CancelTheHate.com, its owners, officers, agents, and affiliates from any claims, damages, or legal fees arising from false, defamatory, or unlawful content you submit.

CancelTheHate.com assumes no liability for reputational consequences resulting from the accurate publication of publicly verifiable information.

1.6 Governing Law & Venue

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the State of California. Any disputes shall be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Allegheny County, PA or Los Angeles County, CA.

2. Submission Policy

We accept only evidence-based submissions that meet the following requirements:

  1. No Anonymous Tips — You must provide your real name and a valid email address. Anonymous or unverifiable submissions will be rejected.

  2. Required Information — Provide the accused person’s name, state, profession, and context for why their conduct is relevant.

  3. Required Evidence — Upload screenshots, screen recordings, or URLs that clearly show the post, statement, or action in question. Include timestamps and original platform identifiers where possible.

  4. Context — Explain how the conduct endangers others, promotes violence, or violates standards of public trust.

  5. Prohibited Content — Do not submit private addresses, phone numbers, financial information, or images of minors. Do not submit altered or fabricated evidence.

False or malicious reporting may result in permanent banning and possible legal action.

3. Verification Policy

Each submission undergoes a multi-stage review before publication:

  1. Intake Screening

    • Check for completeness, non-anonymous identity, and relevance.

    • Reject submissions missing required information or clear evidence.

  1. Evidence Authentication

    • Confirm screenshots match known platform layouts and metadata.

    • Where possible, corroborate using Internet Archive or platform links.

  1. Public Interest Assessment

    • Confirm that the reported person holds a public-facing role (e.g., educator, healthcare professional, law enforcement, political figure, business owner serving the public).

    • Exclude purely private disputes or irrelevant personal information.

  1. Editorial Review

    • Remove or redact sensitive information not required for context.

    • Ensure the post is quoted accurately, in full context.

  1. Final Approval & Publication

    • Mark as “Verified” and publish to the relevant state page.

    • Notify submitter of approval or rejection when possible.

We reserve the right to reject any submission that fails verification, contains unverifiable claims, or falls outside the mission of the site.

4. Privacy Policy
